Job summary

Brighton Grammar School in Melbourne invites applications for an experienced Upper Strings Music Tutor to join our Music Department. The role involves violin and viola lessons, ensemble direction, and active participation in concerts and school music programs.

The successful candidate will teach on Wednesdays and Thursdays during term time, and must hold a current Working with Children Check and National Criminal Record Check.

Qualifications

• Relevant skills and experience in musicianship and tutelage of the upper strings in a school environment.
• Advanced skills as an Upper Strings Tutor.
• Experience tutoring students in accordance with AMEB syllabus for examination preparation.
• Ability to enthuse, motivate and encourage students to participate in School Music ensembles.
• Working with Children Check and National Criminal Record Check required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate violin and viola lessons (individual and group) across the school.
• Direct school music ensembles and participate in concert evenings.
• Engage in all areas of the School Music program throughout the year.
