Job summary

Brighton Grammar School in Melbourne is seeking a talented casual Trumpet Tutor to join our Brass team. You will deliver lessons to individuals and groups across Junior and Secondary School, with the ability to also teach euphonium, French horn and tuba.

The role requires advanced trumpet tutelage, ensemble direction experience, and the ability to engage boys of diverse ages. Applicants must have a Working with Children Check and a National Criminal Record Check.

Qualifications

• Relevant skills and experience in musicianship and tutelage of the trumpet in a school environment.
• Advanced skills as a Trumpet Tutor and experience as an ensemble Director/Assistant.
• Current experience facilitating brass lessons with students at all levels.
• A demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships and engage with students of all ages and abilities.
• A demonstrated ability to enthuse, motivate and encourage students to participate in solo performances and School Music ensembles.
• A current Working with Children Check and a National Criminal Record Check (police check) is essential for this position.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons to individuals and groups of students across Junior and Secondary Schools.
• Teach other brass instruments, including euphonium, French horn and tuba where possible.
• Contribute to ensemble direction and assistance as required.
