Job summary

A leading meat processing company in Warrnambool, Victoria, is looking for Unskilled Meat Workers for immediate start. This role involves packing, carcass management, and general floor maintenance. Candidates must be physically fit, reliable, and have the right to work full-time in Australia. The position offers above award wages, employee benefits, and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Must have the right to work full-time in Australia (38 hours/week).
• Must pass a drug & alcohol test and pre-employment medical if required.
• Must have already had a Q Fever vaccination or be willing to participate.

Responsibilities

• Packing of meat into boxes or plastic bags.
• Marshaling carcasses and cartons into refrigerated areas, requiring manual lifting.
• General cleaning of slaughter floors and boning rooms.
• Assisting with the removal of hides and legs from carcasses.
• Attaching shackle chains around cattle for lifting.

We own and manage farms, factories, and distribution channels, ensuring complete control over the essential aspects of bringing livestock from paddock to plate.

We have positions available for immediate start, within a stable work environment for Unskilled Meat Workers with no experience in meat processing based in Warrnambool, Victoria.

Main Duties & Responsiblities

• Packing of meat into boxes or plastic bag
• Marshaling of carcasses and carton into refrigerator, freezers and shipping container, manual lifting required
• General tidying up slaughter floors and boning rooms, by using shovels and brooms
• Assisting with removal of hides, fore & hind hock from carcasses, manual and mechanical
• Attaching a shackle chain around the rear leg of a cattle and lifting carcasses forelegs into cleats in the slaughter chain
• Removal of animal tail by using a knife
• Folding pre-cut cardboard into a carton and insert plastic liner
  
  

Skills & Experiences

• You must be reliable, physically fit and willing to work as part of a team
• You understand the importance of good hygiene, attention to detail and following procedures
• You must have the right to work full-time in Australia (38 hours/week)
• You must pass a drug & alcohol test and be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical if required
• You have already had a Q Fever vaccination or are willing to participate in the vaccination process.
