Job summary

JBS Australia’s Southern Division operates a major Brooklyn facility in Melbourne, offering permanent full-time roles for experienced skilled meat workers. Positions come with salary from AUD 79,423 to AUD 90,000 plus superannuation, commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities include slaughtering, boning, slicing and sawing with a focus on safety and quality. The successful candidates will show leadership, work collaboratively, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ proven experience in boning, slicing or slaughtering/sawing.
• Experience at Brooklyn site is preferred.
• Cert 3 meat processing qualification required.

Job Description

JBS Australia’s Southern Division has the largest multi-species processing facility in Australia processing beef, sheep, and goats based in Melbourne. We also have five other facilities across New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania and has access to all major international markets, providing our livestock suppliers with a range of markets and brand opportunities.

Operates six beef, lamb, and multi-species processing facilities across four states. With approximately 8,500 employees spread across our offices, processing plants and feedlots, JBS Australia exports to more than 50 countries around the world. About the role:

These are full time positions with annual salary from $79,423.00 to $90,000.00 plus superannuation (commensurate with experience & skill levels applied, and more with additional allowances and/or overtime where worked). Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• To adhere to Workplace Health & Safety and Quality procedures
• Ability to work within a team environment with the ability to take direction
• Good communication skills essential
• Demonstrated integrity and good presentation
• The ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Performing general slaughtering / boning / slicing / sawing duties
• High focus & attention to detail.

About you

• A minimum of 2 years’ proven experience in Boning, Slicing or Slaughtering / Sawing required, preferable in Brooklyn site, Australia
• Relevant qualification (Cert 3 meat processing) is a must
• Knowledge and understanding of different rotations
• Proven high level of knife sharpening skills
• Knowledge and understanding of related quality requirements
