Job summary

GenesisCare in Cairns, Queensland, is seeking a Unit Leader to lead our Radiation Therapy team. You will supervise clinical practice, uphold patient safety standards, and mentor a high-performing group while coordinating daily workflows and rostering.

The role offers exposure to SABR and advanced treatment techniques with Varian linacs, AlignRT, and MOSAIQ, along with a 9-day fortnight, relocation support, and opportunities for professional development; AHPRA registration and leadership

Qualifications

• A recognised qualification in Radiation Therapy and current registration with AHPRA.
• Strong clinical experience in radiation therapy, with QA and patient safety emphasis.
• Demonstrated leadership experience or acting opportunities to mentor a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and mentor Radiation Therapists within the department, fostering safe clinical practice and patient-centred care.
• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, quality assurance processes and safety standards.
• Champion a culture of patient safety, clinical accountability and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate daily workflows, staffing and resources to ensure safe service delivery and patient scheduling.
• Work closely with Radiation Oncologists, Pre-Treatment Leaders, Medical Physicists and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Support the introduction of new technologies, treatment techniques and changes to clinical practice, ensuring training and safe implementation.
• Oversee workforce planning, leave management and rostering to maintain sustainable staffing.
