Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Australia is seeking a Mine Ventilation Technician for the Underground Mining team at Tropicana Gold Mine. The role reports to the Underground Mining Engineer – Projects and Infrastructure and operates on an 8 days on/6 days off FIFO roster with direct site flights from Perth and Kalgoorlie.

The position focuses on safe underground ventilation, plan preparation, and input to mine planning, with responsibilities ranging from surveys to maintaining the ventilation network.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic attitude towards fulfilling key accountabilities.
• Willingness to work in an underground mine.
• A C Class Driver’s Licence.
• Full permanent working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the underground ventilation system to ensure a safe working atmosphere for all employees.
• Audit ventilation infrastructure to ensure compliance with approved ventilation plans.
• Prepare and distribute ventilation plans.
• Provide ventilation-specific input into mine plans and schedules.
• Complete statutory ventilation surveys of the primary and secondary ventilation networks.
• Manage the secondary fan register and arrange maintenance and change-outs as required.
• Assist with underground infrastructure and project work as directed.
