AngloGold Ashanti Australia is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Underground Maintenance team at Tropicana Gold Mine. You will report to the Underground Electrical Maintenance Supervisor and provide frontline support, ensuring electrical work is carried out safely, on time, and cost-effectively.

This role operates on an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster with direct flights from Perth and Kalgoorlie to site.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted WA Electrical Licence (Essential)
• Electrical Instrumentation Certificate, PLCs and Automation experience (Desirable)
• Data cabler’s license advantageous
• Mining or heavy industry electrical maintenance experience (Essential)
• Underground Mining electrical maintenance experience preferred
• Knowledge of WHS Regulations, AS/NZS 3000 and relevant Australian Standards
• Current High Voltage Switching certificate
• Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Microsoft Projects, and SAP
• WA C Class manual driver’s license
• Senior First Aid
• Existing and ongoing Permanent work rights in Australia (mandatory)

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, maintenance and installation on motors, VSDs, transformers, substations, panels and underground electrical systems
• Carry out scheduled statutory work safely and efficiently
• Install and maintain underground reticulation for power distribution
• Conduct breakdown and maintenance on underground drilling equipment to minimise downtime
• Study plans, drawings and work orders to determine requirements and sequence of work
• Be available after hours on a rotating call-out roster
• Assist with equipment maintenance shutdowns and power isolations
