Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Australia is seeking an Electrical Technician for the Underground Maintenance team at Tropicana Gold Mine. Report to Underground Electrical Maintenance Supervisor; provide frontline support to ensure safe, timely, cost-effective electrical work.

Role is based at Tropicana on a FIFO 8/6 roster with flights from Perth and Kalgoorlie. You will conduct repairs, installations and maintenance across underground electrical systems and assist with shutdowns after planning.

Qualifications

• WA Electrical Licence required
• Electrical Instrumentation Certificate and PLCs/Automation experience desirable
• Mining or heavy industry electrical maintenance experience required
• Underground mining electrical maintenance experience preferred
• Regulatory knowledge: WH&S (Mines) Regulations and AS/NZS 3000
• Current High Voltage Switching certificate desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, maintenance and installation on motors, VSDs, transformers, substations and distribution boards
• Carry out scheduled statutory work safely and efficiently
• Install and maintain underground reticulation systems for reliable power distribution
• Conduct breakdown maintenance on underground drilling equipment to minimise downtime
• Review plans and work orders to determine required work and sequence
• Be available after hours on a rotating call-out roster and respond to breakdowns
• Assist with maintenance shutdowns and power isolation activities
