Job summary

Stellar Recruitment is seeking an experienced Underground Trainer to join an underground gold mining operation on an 8:6 FIFO roster. Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent, you will deliver training, assessments, coaching and mentoring to develop the capability of the underground workforce and ensure compliance with site procedures and safety standards.

You will have Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and extensive underground mining experience, with a focus on safety,

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent).
• Extensive underground mining experience.
• Strong understanding of underground mining methods, equipment and safety practices.
• Demonstrated experience delivering training, coaching or mentoring within a mining environment.
• Current WA Class C Driver's Licence.
• Current National Police Clearance.
• Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver underground inductions, training programs and competency assessments.
• Conduct Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments across underground equipment and tasks.
• Coach and mentor operators to enhance skills, productivity and safe work practices.
• Maintain accurate training records and competency documentation.
• Ensure compliance with legislative, operational and company training requirements.
• Identify skills gaps and contribute to workforce development initiatives.
• Assist in the development, review and continuous improvement of training materials.
• Support a strong safety culture through ongoing engagement with underground personnel and leadership teams.
• Monitor and report on workforce competency and training compliance.
