Job summary

Nqm Gold 2 Pty Ltd is seeking an Underground Shift Supervisor in Queensland to lead underground mining crews, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

You will provide daily supervision, drive production and development targets, conduct inspections, lead risk assessments, manage training and contractor activities, and promote a positive safety culture through coaching and leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' underground mining supervision experience.
• Experience supervising underground mining operations.
• Strong leadership and crew management skills.
• Knowledge of health, safety and risk management practices.
• Ability to prioritise work and make sound decisions.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and leadership to underground mining crews.
• Ensure production and development targets are achieved safely each shift.
• Conduct workplace inspections and maintain accurate records.
• Lead risk assessments and ensure effective controls are implemented.
• Manage workforce training and competency requirements.
• Supervise contractors working underground, including drilling activities.
• Promote a positive safety culture through coaching, communication, and leadership.
• Monitor workplace conditions and stop work when safety risks become unacceptable.
• Support the development and performance of team members.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.
