Job summary

MMG Limited's Rosebery operation in Tasmania is seeking an Underground Operator – Production Driller. Reporting to the Underground Shift Supervisor, you will ensure safe and efficient drilling operations in line with standards, on a permanent 7:7 roster.

This role offers a culture of zero harm, a competitive salary with a short-term incentive, and opportunities to grow in one of Australia’s long-running mines.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a similar role with at least 1 year of Production Drilling experience.
• Experience with working in production and development crews or operating in this environment with underground mining equipment and techniques.
• Ability to communicate clearly and conduct detailed handovers with supervisors and cross shift.
• Willingness to undergo Pre-Employment Medical and D&A checks.
• Manual C Class driver’s license.
• First aid certificate – desirable.
• Working at Heights certificate – desirable
• Unwavering commitment to safety and proven history of safe work practises

Responsibilities

• Follow shift plan and maintain good housekeeping.
• Operate production drills underground and support efficient drilling.
• Read and follow engineering design plans for accurate hole drilling.
• Coordinate with Mine Control for real-time updates on measures and delays.
• Complete and submit shift reports and documentation to the Shift Supervisor.
• Attend required site MMG training and meetings.
• Ensure vehicles are operated safely and kept clean.
• Conduct regular, high-quality workplace inspections and ensure correct signage.

Underground Operator – Production Driller

Reporting to the Underground Shift Supervisor you will ensure that all aspects of operations are carried out safely and efficiently in accordance with Company and Legislative standards and procedures.

These are permanent positions are offered on a 7:7 roster.

Responsibilities include (however not limited to):

• Following shift plan instructions as directed by your supervisor, ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times
• Knowledge of underground mining practices and efficient operation of production drills
• Read and accurately follow engineering design plans with skill and precision ensuring holes are drilled to design taking into account depth and deviation.
• Epiroc long hole rig experience preferred.
• Working collaboratively with the team to ensure production targets are met.
• Real time communication with Mine Control of all physical measures and delays
• Completion and submission of all required shift reports and documentation to the Shift Supervisor
• Conducting a thorough, timely and informative end of shift handover with your cross shift
• Attend and actively participate in all required site and MMG training courses and meetings
• Ensure that all assigned vehicles are operated in a safe and clean condition at all times
• Using all provided equipment safety and within its design capability and purpose
• Carrying out effective high quality workplace inspections, ensuring correct signage (warning/hazards) are used and maintained at all times according to site standards and procedures.

• Abide by Workplace Management Procedures to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, visions and values, and MMG Code of Conduct.

About You:

• Demonstrated experience in a similar role with at least 1 year of Production Drilling experience
• Experience with working in production and development crews or operating in this environmentwith an extensive knowledge off underground mining equipment and techniques.
• Ability to communicate clearly and conduct detailed handovers with supervisors, cross shift and other relevant departments.
• A willingness to partake in Pre-Employment Medical and D&A Screen and Background checks.
• A manual C Class driver’s license.
• First aid certificate – desirable.
• Working at Heights Certificate - desirable
• Unwavering commitment to safety and proven history of safe work practises
