Job summary

MMG Rosebery in Tasmania is seeking an HR Officer to join our on-site/off-site hybrid team. You’ll support HR activities across the employee lifecycle, advise on workplace matters, handle payroll enquiries, and contribute to engagement and culture initiatives in a long-standing underground mine community.

You’ll partner with experienced HR professionals and operational leaders to apply policies consistently, manage inquiries, and drive practical people practices at Rosebery.

Responsibilities

• Support HR activities across the employee lifecycle (employee relations, payroll enquiries, HR reporting and administration).
• Provide accurate, timely advice and assist with workplace matters.
• Assist with engagement, culture initiatives and HR processes to ensure consistent policy application.

As our HR Officer, you’ll work alongside an experienced HR team and provide practical, day-to-day support across the Rosebery operation—one of Australia’s longest-running underground mines.

Located on Tasmania’s spectacular West Coast, Rosebery offers the opportunity to develop your HR career within a close-knit operation, working directly with employees, leaders and HR professionals across the business.

In this role, you’ll support a broad range of HR activities across the employee lifecycle. This will include assisting with employee relations and workplace matters, performance and development processes, payroll enquiries, HR reporting and administration, and employee engagement and culture initiatives. You’ll also provide accurate and timely advice while helping ensure HR processes, policies and systems are applied consistently across the operation.

About you

We’re looking for an approachable and organised HR professional who enjoys working with people and is ready to build their experience in an operational environment.

You’ll ideally have:

• A qualification in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or a related discipline
• Previous experience in an HR administration, advisory or officer-level role
• A practical understanding of HR policies, processes and employment practices
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Excellent organisation, accuracy and attention to detail
• The confidence to manage competing priorities and respond to employee enquiries
• Sound judgement and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
• Experience using HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications
• An interest in working within a mining or operational environment
• Previous mining experience is desirable but not essential
