Job summary

Newmont Tanami is seeking an experienced Backfill & Services Technician to support safe underground mining operations. You will install, inspect and maintain paste fill infrastructure at Dead Bullock Soak, ensuring accurate delivery for ongoing development and production.

FIFO roster and on-site camp support work life balance in the Tanami Desert. Reporting to the Backfill & Services Supervisor, you will work collaboratively with a skilled team to perform line checks, start-ups and shutdowns,

Qualifications

• Underground mining background with service crew or paste fill experience.
• Strong safety culture; able to follow isolation and lockout processes.
• Valid Working at Heights certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect and maintain paste fill reticulation and bulkhead walls.
• Conduct line checks and pre-start inspections of paste fill systems and equipment.
• Support paste plant start-ups and shutdowns with clear communication.
• Perform general underground service crew duties as required.
• Complete isolations and follow tagging/lockout procedures.
• Operate handheld drilling equipment as required.
• Maintain housekeeping, documentation and shift reporting.
• Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
