Job summary

Barminco is seeking a Paste Crew Operator to support underground hard rock mining across Western Australia. You will mix, pump and place paste backfill, ensuring ground support and efficient operations.

Applicants should have prior paste crew or service crew experience, extensive underground mining exposure, and valid site licences. Medical, DAS, NPC and a valid manual licence are required. Barminco offers competitive pay, 14/14 and 7/7 rosters, and career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as Paste Crew Operator or Service Crew in underground mining.
• Extensive underground mining experience.
• Valid qualifications, certificates and licences (RPLs).
• Ability to meet site access requirements (Medical, DAS, NPC & valid Manual Driver's Licence).

Responsibilities

• Perform paste running activities and monitor paste equipment.
• Liaise with paste plant operator and other mine teams.
• Complete paste fill checklists and paperwork per plan.
• Install and maintain paste barricades and bulkheads.
• Ensure paste backfill is completed safely and to schedule.

About our Role

Join the Barminco team as a Paste Crew member and support our underground mining operations at sites throughout Western Australia. In this role, you'll play a key part in mixing, pumping, and placing paste backfill into underground stopes to provide ground support and enable safe, efficient mining.

What will your day to day look like?

• Conduct paste running activities
• Monitor paste fill devices/paste walls / paste valves
• Liaise and work in with the paste plant operator
• Complete paste fill checklists and paperwork
• Ensure paste backfill is completed as per plan
• Install, monitor, and maintain paste barricades and bulkheads
• Inspect, maintain, and clear paste lines and equipment to prevent blockages
• Work closely with mining and production teams to meet schedules
• Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures during paste operations

Your background should include:

• Previous experience working as a Paste Crew Operator and/or Service Crew
• Extensive experience working in underground mining
• All valid and relevant qualifications, certificates and licences (RPL's)
• Ability to meet all site access requirements (including, but not limited to, Medical, DAS, NPC & valid Manual Driver's Licence)
