Job summary

Barminco, part of the Perenti Group, is seeking a Paste Crew Operator to support underground mining across Australia. You will mix, pump and place paste backfill to provide ground support and enable safe, efficient mining.

You will monitor paste fill devices, liaise with the paste plant operator, complete checklists, and work with mining teams to meet schedules while upholding safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Prior paste crew operator experience in underground mining.
• Underground mining experience with paste fill processes and equipment.
• All relevant qualifications, certificates and licences are current.

Responsibilities

• Monitor paste fill devices, walls and valves.
• Coordinate with paste plant operator and team.
• Complete paste fill checklists and paperwork.
• Ensure paste backfill is completed as planned.
• Install and maintain paste barricades and bulkheads.
• Inspect and clear paste lines and equipment to prevent blockages.
• Collaborate with mining and production teams to meet schedules.
• Follow safety, quality and environmental procedures.

About our Role

Join the Barminco team as a Paste Crew member and support our underground mining operations across Australia, with opportunities available at sites throughout Western Australia. In this role,you'llplay a key part in mixing, pumping, and placing paste backfill into underground stopes to provide ground support and enable safe, efficient mining.

What will your day to day look like?

• Monitor paste fill devices/paste walls / paste valves
• Liaise and work in with the paste plant operator
• Complete paste fill checklists and paperwork
• Ensure paste backfill is completed as per plan
• Install, monitor, and maintain paste barricades and bulkheads
• Inspect, maintain, and clear paste lines and equipment to prevent blockages
• Work closely with mining and production teams to meet schedules
• Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures during paste operations

Our ideal candidate background includes

• Previous experience working as a Paste Crew Operator
• Extensive experience working in underground mining
• All valid and relevant qualifications, certificates and licences (RPL's)
• Ability to meet all site access requirements (including, but not limited to, Medical, DAS, NPC & valid Manual Driver's Licence)
