Job summary

Westfill Pty Ltd is seeking a Mining Project Engineer to support planning, coordination, and delivery of underground mining projects. You will report to the Project/Operations Manager and provide technical, operational, and commercial input to maximise productivity and safety on site.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, 4+ years underground mining experience, and valid WA driver license along with required certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years experience in underground mining production, development, planning and scheduling.
• Be able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening.
• National Police Clearance valid within the last 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Promote and reinforce a proactive safety-first culture across all project activities.
• Ensure compliance with company, legislative, and site-specific safety requirements.
• Provide direction and technical support to site supervisors, foremen, and operators.
• Act as Relief Project Manager when required, providing leadership and operational oversight.
• Support a high-performance culture built on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Assist in preparation of budgets, cost forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Ensure accurate recording of costs, labour hours, and production data.
• Contribute to procurement, subcontractor engagement, and contract administration.
• Support preparation of project reports, cost reviews, and claims submissions.
• Monitor equipment and personnel utilisation to optimise productivity.

Education

Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or equivalent
