Job summary

Lycopodium Limited, a global engineering and project delivery firm, is recruiting for a Mining Infrastructure Underground Superintendent to join our Western Australia operations on a 2:1 roster. Reporting to the Construction Manager, the role covers compliance, contractor management, operational readiness and onsite technical delivery to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a relevant mining discipline.
• Underground mine management qualification/competency for the relevant jurisdiction (not mandatory).
• Significant experience in underground mining operations, infrastructure or mine development.
• Demonstrated experience managing underground contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven experience in mine planning, scheduling and operational readiness.
• Experience working with commercial, technical and corporate stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of mining legislation, safety standards and industry practices.
• Current site-based mining experience with demonstrated leadership capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management and performance of underground service contractors.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop operational readiness for steady-state underground production.
• Deliver underground mine plans, schedules, targets, infrastructure requirements and budgets safely.
• Lead short-term mine planning and scheduling, including coordination of geotechnical, geological and surveying functions.
• Partner with corporate commercial and technical teams to support contracting strategies and mine planning.
• Build strong relationships with contractors, fostering communication, collaboration and accountability.
• Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with legislation, standards and policies.
