Job summary

Lycopodium is recruiting for a Mining Infrastructure Underground Supervisor on a 2:1 roster for a new long-term gold project in Western Australia. Reporting to the Underground Superintendent, you will oversee frontline operations, crew safety and asset maintenance in underground environments.

The role requires tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent, experience in underground mining, and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while ensuring compliance with WA mining

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a mining diploma, or proven underground hard-rock mining experience.
• Significant experience in underground mining operations, infrastructure or mine development.
• Demonstrated experience managing underground contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven experience in mine planning, scheduling and operational readiness.
• Strong understanding of mining legislation, safety standards and industry practices; WA site experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day underground mining crews and development contractors, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Supervise mechanized mining activities, including jumbo development and long-hole stoping.
• Coordinate shift handovers, run pre-start meetings and allocate resources to meet targets.
• Manage ventilation, ground support, pumping and underground service infrastructure.
• Lead emergency response, ensure refuge chambers operational and train crews in evacuation.
• Uphold a safety-first culture and compliance with the WA Mine Safety Management System.
