Xenco Services is seeking an experienced Underground Mining Engineer to join our team, supporting a leading Gold Mining Operation on the East Coast of Australia. This FIFO role on an 8/6 roster focuses on safe, efficient underground production and strong technical guidance.

The successful candidate will bring hard-rock underground mining expertise, solid planning and design skills, and the ability to collaborate with supervisors, technical services, and operations to improve performance.

• Proven experience as an Underground Mining Engineer in a mining environment.
• Strong understanding of underground mining methods, mine planning and design.
• Demonstrated ability to provide practical technical support to operational mining teams.

• Providing technical mining engineering support to underground mining operations.
• Developing and supporting mine plans, designs and schedules to achieve safe and efficient production and development outcomes.
• Working closely with Mining Supervisors, Superintendents and Technical Services teams to coordinate and optimise underground mining activities.
• Supporting the development and implementation of short- and medium-term mine plans.
• Monitoring mining performance against plans and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Providing practical engineering solutions to operational challenges encountered underground.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Underground Mining Engineer to join our team, working directly with a leading Gold Mining Operation on the East Coast of Australia. This is a FIFO opportunity on an 8/6 roster. The role will suit an experienced Underground Mining Engineer with a strong hard-rock mining background, who can provide high-quality technical support to underground operations and contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of mining activities.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing technical mining engineering support to underground mining operations
• Developing and supporting mine plans, designs and schedules to achieve safe and efficient production and development outcomes
• Working closely with Mining Supervisors, Superintendents and Technical Services teams to coordinate and optimise underground mining activities
• Supporting the development and implementation of short- and medium-term mine plans
• Monitoring mining performance against plans and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Providing practical engineering solutions to operational challenges encountered underground
• Supporting the planning and execution of development and production activities
• Reviewing mining data and operational performance to identify trends, risks and opportunities
• Ensuring mining activities are planned and executed in accordance with relevant safety, regulatory and site requirements
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across underground mining operations
• Working collaboratively with operational and technical teams to improve productivity, efficiency and mine performance
• Providing technical input and recommendations to site leadership and relevant stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as an Underground Mining Engineer within a mining environment
• Strong hard-rock underground mining experience is essential
• Experience within underground Gold mining would be highly regarded
• Strong understanding of underground mining methods, mine planning and design
• Demonstrated ability to provide practical technical support to operational mining teams
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with operational and technical stakeholders
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
