Job summary

Anglo American plc is seeking an experienced Registered Mine Surveyor to lead underground surveying and certify statutory plans at Moranbah North Mine. You will ensure accurate survey control, support development and longwall activities, and maintain records with strict adherence to regulatory standards.

Your role requires current Queensland registration and a mining endorsement, plus a track record in underground coal mine surveying and collaboration with planning, engineering and operational

Qualifications

• Recognised tertiary qualification in Surveying or Spatial Science.
• Current registration with the Surveyors Board of Queensland.
• Mining endorsement suitable for appointment as Registered Mine Surveyor.
• Experience in underground coal mine surveying.
• Strong knowledge of Queensland coal mining legislation and mine surveying requirements.
• Experience preparing, maintaining and certifying statutory mine plans.
• Competency with survey control, traverses and set-outs.
• Proficient with relevant mine surveying software.
• Excellent technical record keeping and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain and certify statutory mine plans and survey records.
• Maintain accurate underground and surface survey control.
• Plan, coordinate and complete underground survey activities.
• Provide survey support for development, longwall, infrastructure and mine planning activities.
• Ensure survey data, field notes, calculations, designs and records are maintained.
• Review survey results to identify discrepancies, hazards or risks.
• Provide technical advice to mine planning, engineering and operational teams.
• Oversee survey work by employees and contractors.
• Maintain clear survey handovers between rosters and shifts.
• Participate in incident investigations and survey relevant areas as needed.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and site Safety and Health Management System.
• Mentor surveyors and technical staff.
