Job summary

Bellevue Gold Limited (ASX:BGL) is conducting underground geology work at the Bellevue gold mine in Western Australia. The role focuses on face and wall mapping, sampling, logging and QA/QC to support production and resource definition.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in geology and eligible for professional registration.
• Experience in underground production environments and orebody interpretation.
• Familiar with mapping, logging, sampling and QA/QC procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor underground geology procedures including face/wall mapping and sampling
• Execute digital UG face/wall mapping program
• Provide ore drive directions to optimise orebody position for stoping
• Liaise with engineers and stakeholders to facilitate geological activities
• Establish mine geology systems for production
• Supervise and train junior geologists for underground activities
• Assist in UG and OP production tracking and ore delineation
• Ensure quality logging, sampling and QA/QC practices
• Weekly reporting of UG geology activities
• Assist Senior Geologist with wireframing and updating geological structures
• Ensure UG activities comply with H&S policies

Bellevue Gold Limited (ASX:BGL) operates its 100% owned high-grade Bellevue gold mine in Western Australia. The Bellevue mine has a long mine life and is forecast to produce ~150,000 Au ounces a year.

Underground mining has occurred since late 2020 to establish multiple mining fronts that de-risks production with exploration in progress to expand the current high-grade resource.

Job Description

Your main duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Develop, implement and monitor various underground geology procedures including but not limited to face mapping and sampling, wall mapping, ore drive directions, logging
• Execute digital UG face/wall mapping program
• Provide ore drive directions to optimize orebody position for stoping
• Liaise with engineers and other stakeholders to facilitate geological activities
• Establish mine geology systems for production
• Supervise and train junior Geologists for underground activities
• Assist in UG and OP production tracking and ore delineation
• Ensure the provision of quality logging, sampling and QAQC practices from resource definition and grade control drilling programs.
• Weekly reporting of UG geology related activities
• Project work as determined by the Senior Geologist
• Assist Senior Geologist with wireframing and updating of significant geological structures within the mine
• Ensure UG activities are completed in accordance with all relevant H&S policies and procedures

Desired Skills and Experience

Key Skills/Qualifications/Experience:

• Tertiary Qualification in Geology
• Experience as a Mine Geologist with at least 1+ years’ experience in an underground production role
• Sound knowledge of mapping, structural geology, drilling and sampling techniques
• Competent user of mining and geology related software packages (e.g. Vulcan and acQuire)
• Understanding of general mining operations, Gold experience highly desirable
• Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety requirements
• Ability to work autonomously with well-developed time management skills
• Proficient in technical writing, reporting and communicating technical data to site management
• Demonstrated leadership skills; inclusive of training and retention of technical and field staff and consultants
