Job summary

BuildRight Construction AU is seeking qualified mechanics and fitters to work in underground mining environments in NSW. The role focuses on diagnostics, maintenance and repair of heavy mobile equipment across underground operations.

Residential positions allow you to live locally, complete your roster and return home after shifts, with no FIFO arrangement. A strong trade qualification and hands-on experience are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Verifiable hands-on experience with heavy machinery
• Trade qualification in Diesel Fitting or equivalent
• Ability to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and driveline faults
• Willingness to work residential mining rosters and pass screenings

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service heavy mobile equipment used in underground mining operations
• Complete scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, engine, driveline and braking faults
• Carry out repairs and component replacements to minimise equipment downtime
• Perform engine, transmission, final drive and hydraulic component change-outs and rebuilds
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and restore machinery to safe operating condition
• Work on underground loaders, haul trucks, production drills and other mobile equipment
• Interpret technical drawings, hydraulics schematics and manufacturer service information
• Record completed maintenance, repairs and identified defects accurately
• Work with maintenance supervisors and planners to meet scheduled maintenance requirements
• Complete pre-start checks and follow isolation, permit and site safety procedures
• Contribute to equipment reliability and continuous improvement
