Job summary

BuildRight Construction AU seeks an experienced Diesel Mechanic for a large pastoral operation in Western Australia. You will service and repair a diverse fleet including diesel vehicles, heavy machinery, and station equipment in a remote rural setting.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills, the ability to work safely with diagnostic tools, and a long-term commitment. VISA sponsorship and accommodation meals are provided for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications in Diesel Mechanics or related mechanical trade.
• Minimum two years post-trade experience.
• Experience maintaining heavy vehicles, agricultural, mining, or station equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to operate diagnostic and testing equipment safely.
• Current driver’s licence equivalent to Australian C Class.
• Motorcycle licence, HR licence, or MC licence advantageous.
• Ability to work in remote locations and adapt to varying conditions.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive maintenance approach.
• Good communication and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Physically fit and able to work in hot/demanding environments.
• Willingness to undergo workplace alcohol and drug testing.
• Long-term commitment to the role.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled servicing, maintenance and repairs on diesel vehicles, trucks, motorcycles, and station machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and perform timely repairs to minimise downtime.
• Respond promptly to mechanical breakdowns and emergency call-outs.
• Operate workshop equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate service records and monitor parts inventory for timely reordering.
• Ensure commonly used spare parts are kept in stock.
• Provide guidance and basic training to station staff on routine inspections and servicing.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
• Work independently and collaboratively in a remote working environment.
• Assist in maintaining the reliability and performance of the company’s fleet and equipment.
