Job summary

Macmahon is seeking an experienced Underground HD Fitter to perform maintenance, diagnostics and servicing on a fleet of underground mining equipment across multiple projects in Australia. You will work with a knowledgeable team to ensure safety and efficiency on site.

Roster options include 7/7 or 14/14, with a strong safety culture and opportunities to grow within long-term projects. A positive team environment and commitment to Winning Values are central to the role.

Qualifications

• Underground HD fitter with proven experience in underground mining equipment.
• Australian-recognised Heavy Mechanical Trade Qualification required.
• Licences: Manual C class driving licence essential.
• Automotive Air Conditioning licence desirable.
• Strong safety focus and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a large fleet of underground mining equipment.
• Diagnose faults and perform mechanical repairs.
• Complete servicing to OEM standards and site procedures.
• Be proactive to minimise downtime within the mining cycle.
• Provide clear, effective communication.

Role Details

• Location: Various projects across Australia
• Roster: 7/7 (rotating days and nights) OR 14/14 (days and nights)

About the Role

You’ll carry out scheduled and breakdown maintenance, repairs, servicing and diagnostics on various underground equipment across our Project. You’ll work alongside experienced teammates who share knowledge and support each other to get the job done safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a large fleet of Underground Mining Equipment
• Diagnose faults and perform mechanical repairs
• Complete servicing to OEM standards and site procedures
• Be proactive with specific role requirements relating to the mining cycle, ensuring minimal operational downtime
• Provide clear and effective communication
• Contribute to our people-first culture and live our Winning Values
• Help teammates, share knowledge and support a strong crew culture

What You’ll Bring

• Previous experience working as a HD Fitter in underground mining
• Strong knowledge of a range of heavy earthmoving equipment and underground ancillary plant
• Australian recognised Heavy Mechanical Trade Qualification
• Automotive Air Conditioning license (Desirable)
• Strong safety focus and ability to speak up
• A team mindset and reliable work ethic
• Commitment to contributing to a positive culture
• Valid manual (C class) Australian drivers licence (Essential)
• Working at Heights, EWP, IT and First Aid Certificate (Highly desired)
