Job summary

Macmahon Underground is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Alternate to join our Underground leadership team. You will lead high-performing underground mining projects, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, and budget compliance with high standards.

This role operates on an 8 day on, 6 day off roster with FIFO from Perth, guiding multidisciplinary teams and shaping the future of Macmahon while strengthening client partnerships and driving operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong track record in delivering underground mining projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent client relationship management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of underground mining projects.
• Oversee contract management processes to maximise financial performance and mitigate risks.
• Build and maintain effective client relationships and ensure alignment with contract requirements.
• Drive compliance with underground mining legislation, safety standards, and company policies.
• Monitor project performance, budgets, forecasts, and KPIs; implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate resources, personnel, and equipment to optimise productivity and project outcomes.

About the Role

Macmahon Underground has a rare opportunity for an experienced Project Manager - Alternate to join our Underground leadership team.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-performing underground mining operations, leading and inspiring teams to execute large-scale projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Based on an 8 day on, 6 day off roster, FIFO from Perth, you will work alongside some of the most experienced leaders in underground mining while helping shape the future of Macmahon.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of underground mining projects, ensuring performance targets are achieved.
• Oversee contract management processes to maximise financial performance while identifying and mitigating operational risks.
• Build and maintain effective client relationships, ensuring operational activities align with contract requirements and client expectations.
• Drive compliance with all underground mining legislation, safety standards, and company policies.
• Monitor project performance, budgets, forecasts, and KPIs, implementing corrective actions where required.
• Coordinate resources, personnel, and equipment to optimise productivity and project outcomes.
