Job summary

Macmahon is seeking a maintenance technician to carry out repairs, servicing and diagnostics on raise drills and IT fleet at the Olympic Dam Project in SA. You’ll join a team that values safety, collaboration and hands-on problem-solving on site.

The role involves diagnosing hydraulic and electrical faults, performing OEM-standard servicing and coordinating with production and planning to keep equipment available and reliable. Rosters include 8:6 shifts with some night work.

Qualifications

• Australian Recognised trade qualification (Cert III in Mobile Plant) or equivalent.
• Experience with raise bore drill rigs and associated equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability on hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Experience with underground or surface drilling equipment.
• Valid manual C Class Australian Driver's Licence (Mandatory).
• Willingness to work on-site and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

About the Role

You'll carry out repairs, servicing and diagnostics on raise drills and IT fleet across our Olympic Dam Project. You'll work alongside experienced teammates who share knowledge and support each other to get the job done safely and efficiently.

• Roster: 8:6 roster (every 3rd rotation will be a week of Night Shift)

What You’ll Bring

• Australian Recognised trade qualification (Cert III in Mobile Plant) or equivalent.
• Experience with Raise Bore drill rigs & associated equipment (e.g. Robbins, Dresser, Atlas Copco/Epiroc, Herrenknecht, Volvo IT’s).
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability with Hydraulic, 24v CAN/ RCS 4-5 electrics, and mechanical issues.
• Experience with underground or surface drilling equipment.
• Valid manual C Class Australian Drivers Licence (Mandatory).
• Working at Heights, High Risk Forklift Ticket and First Aid (Essential), dogging & rigging (desirable).
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Exceptional record keeping and time management
• Detailed knowledge of underground mining and safety regulations.
