Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Australia is seeking an Electrical Technician to join the Underground Maintenance team at Tropicana Gold Mine. You will perform repairs, maintenance and installation on electrical infrastructure and support underground power distribution on a FIFO roster from Perth/Kalgoorlie.

You will bring an Unrestricted WA Electrical Licence, underground mining electrical experience, and knowledge of safety standards.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted WA Electrical Licence.
• Electrical Instrumentation Certificate, PLCs and Automation experience.
• Data cabler's license advantageous.
• Mining or heavy industry electrical maintenance experience (Essential).
• Underground Mining electrical maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of WHS (Mines) Regulations, AS/NZS 3000 and other relevant Australian Standards.
• Current High Voltage Switching certificate - however can assist with obtaining.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, maintenance and installation on motors, VSDs, transformers, substations, starter panels, distribution boards, RMUs, ventilation fans, dewatering systems, instrumentation, communications, lighting and other electrical systems.
• Carry out scheduled statutory work safely and efficiently.
• Install and maintain underground reticulation systems to ensure reliable power distribution.
• Conduct breakdown and maintenance work on underground drilling equipment to minimise downtime.
• Study plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of repairs/installations.
• Be available after hours as part of a rotating call-out roster and respond to equipment breakdowns as required.
• Assist with equipment maintenance shutdowns and power isolations.
