Job summary

Marble Group is hiring a qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our underground and surface maintenance team in North Queensland. You will service, diagnose and repair a range of mining gear, including underground drills, loaders, trucks, and ancillary equipment, in a large operation.

Work across surface and underground workshops with a structured 12-hour day/night roster on an 8:6 FIFO cycle from Cairns, with camp accommodation, flights and meals provided.

Qualifications

• Heavy diesel trade qualification (Cert III or equivalent).
• Proven experience with heavy equipment (earthmoving, etc).
• Open cut or underground mining experience preferred.
• Strong safety focus and teamwork.
• Full pre-employment medical and police clearance + unrestricted manual license.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, diagnosing and repairing underground drills, loaders, trucks, ancillaries and more.
• Responding to breakdowns and carrying out preventative maintenance on all gear.
• Component changeouts, mechanical fault finding and hydraulics.
• Working across surface and underground workshops as required.

The Role

Work with an experienced maintenance team to support the reliability and performance of underground and surface mining equipment through planned maintenance, workshop duties and breakdowns.

• Servicing, diagnosing and repairing underground drills loaders, trucks, anxcillary and plenty more
• Responding to breakdowns and carrying out preventative maintenance on all gear
• Component changeouts, mechanical fault finding and hydraulics
• Working across OEM brands including Sandvik, Epiroc and Normet, Elphinstone and CAT
• Work across both surface and underground workshops depending on daily requirements and tasks allocated

Your Skills & Experience

To be successful within this role and hit the ground running you will need to have the following:

• Heavy diesel trade qualification in Cert III or equivalent.
• Proven experience working on heavy equipment e.g. earthmoving, agricultural or civil, open cut etc
• Open cut or underground mining experience is highly regarded.
• Strong safety focus and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to pass a full pre-employment medical and police clearance + unrestricted manual license
