Boart Longyear is seeking experienced Underground Diamond Drillers for roles in South Australia and Western Australia. Join a global leader with a strong health and safety culture and stable, long-term employment.

You will lead drill crews, set up pads, coordinate rig moves, perform 12-hour shift operations, and complete safety documentation while maintaining equipment and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous underground drilling experience is essential.
• Directional drilling experience is preferred.
• Deep hole experience is welcome.
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen.
• Right to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Lead drill crews and train Driller Assistants.
• Conduct 12-hour shift drilling operations.
• Perform daily pre-start equipment checks and general maintenance.
• Set up drill pads and coordinate rig moves.
• Complete safety documentation and ensure safe work practices.

Job description

Boart Longyear is the world's leading provider of drilling services, drilling equipment, and performance tooling for mining and drilling companies globally. The company's Global Drilling Services division operates in over 40 countries with a diverse mining customer base spanning a wide range of commodities, including copper, gold, nickel, zinc, uranium, and other metals and minerals.

We are currently seeking experiencedUnderground Diamond Drillers in South Australia and Western Australia. We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated with a strong commitment to Health & Safety.

About the Role:

• 2/1 or 2/2 roster with rotating shifts

• Conducting drilling operations over a 12-hour shift

• Leading drill crews, including training of Driller Assistants

• Daily pre-start equipment checks

• General maintenance

• Setting up drill pads and coordinating rig moves

• Completion of safety documentation and compliance with safe work practices

The successful candidate must possess:

• Previous underground Drilling experience essential

• Directional Drilling experience preferred

• Deep hole experience preferred

• Experience working with an LM or MDR rig is essential

• Current Drivers C License

• National Police Clearance, or ability to have one

• First Aid and CPR certificate (desirable)

• Certificate III in Drilling desirable, but not essential

• Physical ability to lift 30kgs repetitively in a labour-intensive role

• Ability to pass a comprehensive pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screen

• Demonstrated personal commitment to safety
