Job summary

Titeline Drilling Pty Ltd is hiring for a Driller to join our team at two underground operations in Australia where we are introducing robot technology to reduce manual handling and increase drilling efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Ability to maintain health, safety and wellbeing of the drill crew and visitors.
  • Ability to lead and direct the drill crew.
  • Capability to correctly set up and operate the drill rig.
  • Maintain drill site and equipment to required standards.
  • Train and develop self and crew members.
  • Complete pre-start checks and safety inspections to standard.
  • Service and maintain drill rig and equipment to standard.
  • Read hole plans and set up rig with required authority.
  • Comply with company and client policies/procedures.
  • Maintain clean, marked core and site housekeeping.

Responsibilities

  • Lead drill crew and ensure safety at site.
  • Set up and operate drill rig to plan.
  • Maintain site, equipment and housekeeping.
  • Train and develop crew members.
  • Complete safety checks and servicing on rigs.
  • Read hole plans and set up with approval to drill.
  • Record and report drilling activities clearly.
  • Support driller assistants with training.

Attributes that will be well regarded
  • Experience drilling with Diamond Drill Rigs and RC Drill Rigs
  • Cert III in mineral drilling (Commenced or completed)
  • Current HR license (with no restrictions)
  • 4x4 driver training

  • Senior First Aid or Remote First Aid qualifications
  • Fire extinguisher training
Key functions of Driller role include
  • Health, safety and wellbeing of the drill crew and any visitors to the drill site
  • Leadership and direction of the drill crew
  • Correct set up and operation of the drill rig
  • Maintenance of the drill site and associated equipment to the required standard
  • Training and development of self and crew members
  • Ensure that Pre-start checks, and safety inspections are completed to required standards
  • Ensure that servicing and maintenance of drill rig and auxiliary equipment is performed to the required standard
  • Ensure that hole plans are read/understood, and the drill rig is correctly set-up and authority gained (where required) to commence drilling
  • Rig operation complies with all company and client policy/procedures
  • Ensure core recovered is complete, clean, accurate and clearly marked up
  • Ensure drill site is always maintained to required standards through housekeeping and regular inspections
  • Effectively communicate as required by company and client. This includes written reports, electronic reporting, and verbal communication
  • Active involvement in training of driller assistants
Conditions you must be able to meet
  • Able to pass a comprehensive pre-employment medical
  • Must produce a clear drug and alcohol screen
  • Current National Police Clearance

  • Flexible rosters! 2 weeks on 2 weeks off roster or 2 weeks on 1 week off
