Job summary

Sandvik Group's Ground Support team in Mackay, Queensland is seeking an experienced Underground Operator (Coal) for a casual role on a 7/7 roster. Based at customer mine sites, you will contribute to standing support, strata support and related underground activities.

You will operate underground equipment, install supports, perform inspections, and maintain safety standards while working with a collaborative crew.

Qualifications

• Underground mining experience is required.
• Valid underground mining licence and relevant certifications are required.
• Strong knowledge of underground safety procedures and mine navigation.
• Ability to work safely in confined, dark and physically demanding environments.
• Willingness to obtain competency across equipment including bolters, shuttle cars, loaders, drift runners and QDS implements.

Responsibilities

• Operate underground mining equipment and mobile plant.
• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
• Install standing support structures and ventilation devices.
• Assist with chemical injection products applications and strata support activities.
• Perform pre-operational and post-operational equipment inspections.
