Job summary

Sandvik Group is seeking an experienced Underground Operator (Coal) for a casual role at Mackay, QLD. You will work on a 7/7 roster, operating underground mining equipment, installing support structures, and contributing to ground support projects across multiple sites.

Prospective candidates should hold an underground mining licence, demonstrate strong safety awareness and teamwork, and be capable of working in confined, challenging conditions with good communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in underground mining environments.
• Possession of a valid underground mining licence and relevant certifications.
• Familiar with underground safety procedures and navigation.

Responsibilities

• Operate underground mining equipment and mobile plant.
• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
• Install standing support structures and ventilation devices.
• Assist with roadway maintenance and bolt/strut activities.
• Conduct pre/post-operational equipment inspections.
• Maintain safety documentation and shift handovers.
