Job summary
De Beers Group in Moranbah, QLD, AU is seeking a Mining Engineer to join the Grosvenor Mine's Technical Services team on a permanent basis. You will help deliver best practice mining engineering services, focusing on ventilation, gas management, and planning to support safe, productive operations.
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will coordinate mine planning inputs (weekly, short-range, monthly, 5 yearly) and contribute to business planning and performance reviews while
Qualifications
- Detailed understanding of coal mining processes.
- Knowledge of mining legislation and its application.
- Strong planning and problem-solving abilities.
- Well-developed communication and collaboration skills; underground coal experience preferred.
- Experience with mine planning tools such as XPAC, IntelliCAD, AutoCAD, Mine Planner, Deswik.
Responsibilities
- Deliver best practice mining engineering services and support to the mine while ensuring safety systems and compliance.
- Plan and coordinate mine planning (weekly, short-range, monthly, 5 yearly and business planning) and production reviews.
- Monitor, analyse and report mine performance and manage projects.
- Contribute to ventilation, gas management, mine planning and technical projects.
- Support process coordinators and interact with the Operations team.
- Identify productivity and process improvement opportunities across safety, production, cost and efficiency.
- Lead the permit-to-mine process to ensure continuity of production.
- Apply Safety & Health principles on site.
