Job summary

Peabody Energy Corporation's Centurion Mine in Queensland seeks an experienced Development Superintendent to lead underground development operations. You will manage multiple continuous miner sections, drive safety, and ensure production milestones are met while maintaining high performance teams.

You will bring five+ years in underground coal development, QLD Supervisory qualifications, and a strong grasp of continuous miners, bolting systems, and gas management to lead the workforce

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience in underground coal development with leadership in Superintendent/Undermanager or senior Deputy role.
• QLD Statutory Supervisor qualifications (S1, S2, S3 and G2) required.
• Second Class or First Class Mine Manager's Certificate highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of continuous miners, bolting systems and underground infrastructure.
• Experience operating in high gas or complex strata environments within underground coal mining.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily development operations, ensuring advance rates and production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
• Drive a culture of proactive hazard identification, behavioural safety and legislative compliance.
• Collaborate with Technical Services and Ventilation teams to manage strata conditions, gas drainage and operational risks.
• Lead, mentor and develop development crews to foster a high-performance culture.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that optimise cycle times and face efficiency.
• Work closely with Maintenance teams to maximise equipment availability and minimise unplanned downtime.
