Job summary

Westfill Pty Ltd in WA is seeking an experienced Charge Up Operator to join our FIFO team. You will safely transport, handle and charge development headings with explosives on site.

This role requires Anfo experience, a development charge up ticket, and at least two years underground charge up work, with a manual license and RPLs for underground vehicles. Fortnightly pay and strong team culture are offered.

Qualifications

• Development charge up ticket or certificate relevant to the jurisdiction (e.g., Shot Firers).
• Anfo experience required for this role
• Minimum 2 years of experience in underground charge up role
• Valid manual driver's license and ability to operate underground vehicles with relevant RPLs.
• Strong knowledge of underground mining regulations, procedures and explosives handling.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport, handle and store explosives and detonators per regulations.
• Charge development headings and other work areas with explosives following plans.
• Inspect blast holes for depth, alignment and cleanliness before charging.
• Connect and test detonator circuits (electronic, non-electric, or electric).
• Ensure proper stemming of charged holes for containment and effectiveness.
• Conduct pre- and post-blast inspections for area security and outcomes.
• Maintain records of explosives used, blast reports and incidents.
• Operate LV and charge-up equipment safely in underground conditions.
