Job summary

CMW Geosciences in Sydney is seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineer, fresh graduate or with up to 4 years of experience, to join our hands-on team. You will contribute to meaningful infrastructure, transmission, and renewable energy projects, helping you grow into a well-rounded geotechnical professional.

The role offers exposure to fieldwork, data processing, and reporting, with mentoring and opportunities for career progression within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a Civil Engineering, Geology, or Earth Science degree.
• Ability to perform strenuous fieldwork.
• Willingness and ability to travel, with a full Australian driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Undertake technical and non-technical tasks under supervision with training as needed.
• Collaborate with the technical team to develop solutions based on engineering and geological principles.
• Carry out fieldwork, data collection/processing, design and reporting.
• Support in progressing all aspects of project delivery under senior staff guidance.

Responsibilities

• Undertake technical and non-technical tasks at the direction of senior professional personnel with support and training when required.
• Work with the technical team to develop technical solutions using an understanding of engineering and geological principles based on experience gained.
• Carry our fieldwork, data collection/processing and design and reporting.
• Work at the direction of senior technical staff to support in progressing all aspects of project delivery.

What You'll Need

• A Civil Engineering, Geology or Earth Science Degree
• Ability to complete strenuous fieldwork tasks
• Ability to travel when required
• A full Australian driver's license
• A desire to work outside with a love of rocks, soil and geology
• Good interpersonal skills
• Exceptional organisation and communication skills, both verbal and written
