Optiver is offering a Software Developer Intern position in Australia, working alongside experienced engineers to build ultra-low latency systems used in quantitative trading. You will ship code to production within a fast-paced cycle and receive structured training, mentorship, and insights from traders and engineers.

The internship includes workshops, mentor guidance, and trader training to help you understand trading fundamentals and make an impact early in your Optiver career.

Qualifications

• Penultimate university student applying for internship.
• Knowledgeable about object-oriented design and development concepts (C++, Java or Python).
• Strong problem-solving and ability to work in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop latency-critical applications in collaboration with engineers and traders.
• Contribute to trading system improvements and pricing models.
• Participate in the training program and mentorship activities.
• Work with a dedicated education team and a senior mentor to accelerate learning.
