Job summary

Optiver is offering a Software Developer Internship in Sydney, NSW, starting December 2027. You will work alongside experienced engineers in a fast-paced, training-focused program, building latency-sensitive components and participating in real trading-system projects.

Throughout the 10-week internship you will receive mentorship, structured workshops and exposure to trading strategies, with the potential for an offer to return as a Graduate Software Developer.

Qualifications

• Penultimate university student pursuing a technical degree.
• Must have legal work rights in Australia.
• Strong problem-solving and learning mindset.

Responsibilities

• Work on latency-critical exchange protocol encoding/decoding projects.
• Collaborate with traders and engineers to deliver high-quality features.
• Participate in training program and complete projects within sprints.
• Contribute to production code with rapid feedback loops.
