Job summary

WorkPac Group seeks an experienced Tyre Fitter for its mining client at Byerwen Mine in Queensland. You will service large-scale mobile equipment across excavators, dozers, graders, loaders and mining trucks, with a strong emphasis on safety and productivity.

Essential are coal mining experience, CBM, and S11 induction; you must pass pre-employment medical and drug screening. Camp accommodation, transport options, and fortnightly pay are provided on site.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out tyre fitting, removal, repair and maintenance on large-scale mobile mining equipment.
• Inspecting tyres for wear, damage and potential issues; conducting safe removal and fitting.
• Maintaining records and documentation; ensuring a clean and safe work area.

Job description

Our client is a leading mining services company operating at Byerwen Mine in Queensland. With a strong focus on safety, productivity, and providing a supportive working environment, this is an excellent opportunity for experienced Tyre Fitters to join an established mining team.

You will be working across a range of large-scale mobile mining equipment, including excavators, dozers, graders, loaders and large electric and mechanical dump trucks.

The site offers modern camp facilities, employee transport options, and a range of amenities to support employees while on site.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Carrying out tyre fitting, removal, repair and maintenance on large-scale mobile mining equipment.
• Working on a range of mining equipment including:
• Excavators: Liebherr 9800, 9400 and 9350; Hitachi 3600.
• Dozers: CAT D9, D10 and D11.
• Graders: CAT 24M and Komatsu 955.
• Loaders: Komatsu 600 and 900.
• Mechanical Dump Trucks: CAT 789 and CAT 793.
• Electric Dump Trucks: Hitachi EH5000 and CAT 794.
• Conducting tyre inspections and identifying wear, damage and potential issues.
• Safely removing, fitting and repairing large OTR/mining tyres.
• Working closely with maintenance and production teams to minimise equipment downtime.
• Completing relevant maintenance records and documentation.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area.
• Following all site safety procedures, policies and environmental requirements.

What You Will Need:

• Previous coal mining experience is essential.
• Previous experience as a Tyre Fitter in a mining environment.
• Current Coal Board Medical (CBM).
• Current Standard 11 (S11) induction.
• Experience working around heavy mobile mining equipment.
• Strong understanding of tyre fitting, maintenance and safety procedures.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
