Job summary

Darling Downs Radiology is seeking a Tutor Sonographer in Toowoomba to balance hands-on clinical scanning with education for postgraduate and undergraduate students. You will contribute to patient care while mentoring learners, within the Integral Diagnostics (IDX) network.

The role offers ongoing professional development, involvement in IDX education programs, and the chance to influence future sonographers in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate Diploma or Master of Medical Sonography (ASAR accredited) required.
• Minimum five years' clinical sonography experience.
• Genuine passion for teaching, mentoring and developing others.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with RIS/PACS and digital reporting platforms desirable.

Responsibilities

• Delivering one-on-one clinical training to postgraduate student sonographers in a 24-month program.
• Mentoring undergraduate sonography students during clinical placements.
• Supporting competency assessments, progress reviews and ongoing professional development.
• Coordinating student workflows, diary management and learning opportunities.
• Participating in IDX education programs and tutor forums to enhance training standards.
• Balancing clinical scanning with education in a collaborative environment.

About the Role

Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, you'll balance clinical scanning with education and mentorship, supporting sonographers throughout their learning journey while continuing to deliver outstanding patient care.
