Job summary

South Coast Radiology on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced Tutor Sonographer to blend hands-on clinical scanning with teaching postgraduate and undergraduate students, shaping the next generation while maintaining your clinical practice.

In this hybrid role you will deliver one-on-one clinical training, mentor students during placements, support competency assessments, and contribute to IDX education programs, ensuring high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate Diploma or Master of Medical Sonography (ASAR accredited).
• Minimum five years' clinical sonography experience.
• Genuine passion for teaching, mentoring and developing others.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong technical knowledge and commitment to high-quality patient care.

About the Role

Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, you'll balance clinical scanning with education and mentorship, supporting sonographers throughout their learning journey while continuing to deliver outstanding patient care.

• Delivering one‑on‑one clinical training to postgraduate student sonographers throughout their 24‑month training program.
• Mentoring undergraduate sonography students during clinical placements.
• Supporting competency assessments, progress reviews and ongoing professional development.
• Coordinating student workflows, diary management and learning opportunities.
• Participating in IDX education programs and tutor forums to continuously enhance training standards.
• Maintaining a balance between clinical scanning and education in a collaborative, supportive environment.
