Job summary

Bayside Council is seeking hands-on grounds maintenance staff to keep our parks, verges and sports fields pristine. You will operate and maintain turf equipment, carry out general grounds maintenance, and learn safe practices on the job.

Benefits include a fortnightly rostered day off, extra time off at Christmas, sick leave, and flexible personal leave. Salary ranges from $65,382 to $73,227 per year plus 12% superannuation.

Qualifications

• General schooling to Year 10 or 12.
• SafeWork NSW white card (construction induction).
• Current Driver’s Licence.
• Current “Chem Use” accreditation OR willingness to obtain during probation.

What you will do:

• Mowing and maintaining parks, verges and sports fields
• Carrying out general park and grounds maintenance
• Clearing litter and debris
• Operating and maintaining a range of tools, machinery, and turf equipment
• Learning safe and effective work practices on the job

You’ll receive hands-on training and guidance to build your skills and confidence. We’ll teach you everything you need to know about the plant, tools, and equipment used in in landscaping and parks maintenance.

About you

• General schooling to Year 10 or 12 and/or relevant experience
• A SafeWork NSW white card (general construction induction card)
• Current Driver’s License
• Current “Chem Use” accreditation OR willingness to obtain during probation period

Salary & Benefits: $1,253 to $1,403 per week (additional adverse working conditions allowance of $19.49 pw) plus 12% Superannuation.
