Job summary

Green by Nature AU is seeking an experienced Greenskeeper/Sports Turf Technician to maintain premier sporting surfaces at two Canberra venues. You will manage mowing, irrigation and turf health, ensuring top playing conditions year-round across rugby, cricket and multi-purpose fields.

A hands-on outdoors role with strong teamwork and client collaboration. The ideal candidate holds a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management and has experience with turf equipment, pest management and cricket

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Sports Turf Management is required.
• Experience maintaining sports turf surfaces and facilities.
• Strong knowledge of turf species, nutrition and management practices.
• Experience operating turf maintenance equipment and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Mowing, aeration, topdressing, fertilising and general turf maintenance.
• Monitor turf health and identify pest, disease or compaction issues.
• Assist with seasonal renovation and recovery programs.
• Irrigation operation and water management practices.
• Operate and maintain specialised turf machinery and equipment.
• Implement sustainable turf management and IPM practices.
• Prepare sports fields to a high playing and presentation standard.
• Collaborate with clients and team members for exceptional outcomes.

Green by Nature is seeking an experienced Greenskeeper / Sports Turf Technician to join our Canberra team, maintaining an iconic oval along with a prestigious education facility. About the Role

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance, presentation and performance of sports turf surfaces and surrounding grounds.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Mowing, aeration, topdressing, fertilising and general turf maintenance
• Monitoring turf health and identifying pest, disease or compaction issues
• Assisting with seasonal renovation and recovery programs
• Irrigation operation and water management practices
• Operating and maintaining specialised turf machinery and equipment
• Implementing sustainable turf management and integrated pest management practices
• Preparing sports fields to a high playing and presentation standard
• Collaborating with clients and team members to ensure exceptional outcomes

About You

We're looking for someone who takes pride in producing outstanding turf surfaces and enjoys working in a hands-on outdoor environment.

You will ideally have:

• Certificate III in Sports Turf Management
• Experience as a Greenskeeper, Sports Turf Technician or Turf Maintenance Technician
• Strong knowledge of turf species, nutrition and turf management practices
• Experience operating turf maintenance equipment and machinery
• A current driver's licence
• White Card
• Working With Vulnerable People registration (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience with cricket wicket preparation will be highly regarded

Most importantly, you'll bring a strong work ethic, attention to detail and a genuine passion for sports turf management.
