Job summary

Svitzer Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Tug Engineer to maintain and repair onboard machinery, ensure safe towage operations, and support crew in Fremantle. You will monitor systems, report defects, and uphold safety standards in a dynamic port environment.

The role requires a Class 3 Near Coastal certificate, AMSA medical, and First Aid/CPR qualifications. Applicants must be able to work at sea and on land with a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must hold Engineer Class 3 Near Coastal certificate or equivalent.
• AMSA medical and first aid/CPR certificates required.
• Strong safety focus and proven ability to work to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining onboard machinery including engine and deck equipment.
• Carrying out maintenance and repair of marine systems and equipment.
• Supporting safe and effective winch operation during towage jobs.
• Identifying and reporting defects promptly to keep operations on track.
• Preparing maintenance records and operational reports as required.
• Ensuring compliance with safety procedures, regulations and policies.
• Assisting on deck to support crew and vessel operations.
• Participating in drills, training and skills development.
