Job summary

Hanlon Industries Pty Ltd in Geelong is seeking an experienced HC Driver & Yard Hand to join our hands-on team, delivering steel, loading trucks and coordinating yard operations.

You’ll operate a range of trucks, handle loads safely, and support deliveries to workshops, sites and suppliers with a strong safety focus.

Qualifications

• Heavy vehicle driving experience in transport, steel or construction.
• Knowledge of load restraint requirements and safe handling of loads.
• Confident communication with customers and site teams.
• Attention to detail with loads and delivery documentation.
• Strong safety focus and hands-on approach to tasks.

Responsibilities

• Drive a range of trucks to deliver steel to customers and project sites.
• Load and unload structural steel and other materials.
• Operate forklifts to move, load and organise steel safely.
• Prepare, check and secure loads for transport.
• Ensure loads comply with load restraint requirements.
• Liaise with customers regarding delivery times and site access.
• Check and sign off load lists and delivery dockets.
• Complete delivery paperwork and transport documentation.
• Conduct vehicle and equipment pre-start checks.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised yard.
• Assist with general yard and material handling duties as required.

We’re looking for an experienced Truck Driver & Yard Hand to join our team in a hands-on role combining steel deliveries, truck loading and yard operations.

You’ll drive a range of trucks, load and secure structural steel, coordinate deliveries with customers and help keep materials moving safely and efficiently between our workshops, suppliers and project sites.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Drive a range of trucks to deliver steel to customers and project sites

• Load and unload structural steel and other materials

• Operate forklifts to safely move, load and organise steel

• Prepare, check and secure loads for transport

• Ensure loads comply with load restraint requirements

• Liaise with customers regarding delivery times, access and site details

• Check and sign off load lists and delivery dockets

• Complete delivery paperwork and transport documentation

• Maintain a safe, clean and organised yard

• Assist with general yard and material handling duties as required

What We’re Looking For

• Heavy Combination (HC) Licence – essential

• Forklift Licence – essential

• Heavy vehicle driving experience, ideally within transport, steel or construction

• Experience loading, securing and handling materials safely

• Good understanding of load restraint requirements

• Confident communication with customers and site teams

• Good attention to detail with loads and delivery documentation

• Strong safety focus and a practical, hands-on approach

• Reliable, self‑motivated and willing to work as part of a team
