Job summary

Transport For NSW in Bega, NSW, is seeking an MR Truck Driver to operate MR vehicles for the Bridge Maintenance team based in Bega, with duties spanning labouring and maintenance across bridges and culverts.

Qualifications

• Essential licenses: White Card, MR Driver Licence, traffic control certifications.
• Labouring experience in a construction or civil environment is advantageous.
• Familiarity with local road networks across the district is beneficial.
• Willingness to travel and camp within the region as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate MR vehicles (GVM >4.5t) for the Bridge Maintenance team in Bega.
• Undertake labouring and manual handling for bridges and culverts.
• Assist in maintaining timber, steel and concrete bridges and related tasks.
• Operate water tankers, Flocon trucks, HIAB or similar crane equipment.
• Collaborate with Team Leaders and Works Supervisors to manage daily tasks.
• Be prepared to camp and travel across the region when needed.
• Adhere to WHS legislation and safe work practices at all times.
• Work a 9 Day Fortnight schedule.

• Operate Medium Rigid vehicles (with a GVM of greater than 4.5 tonnes) as an MR Truck Driver for the Bridge Maintenance team based in Bega
• Undertake labouring and manual handling tasks for a variety of bridges and culverts across the district at a sub-trade level when not operating the Truck
• Undertake a range of functions relating to maintaining timber, steel and concrete bridges, including assisting other trades and painting when required
• In addition to the above, the trucks operated by this position may include water tankers and Flocon Trucks (asphalt transport) and operate a HIAB or similar truck mounted crane
• Work collaboratively with the team including Team Leaders and Works Supervisors to manage the day-to-day operations and tasks as well as resolve issues that may arise
• Be prepared to camp way and travel across the region when required
• Keep up to date with WHS legislation and policies and procedures as it relates to minimising risk and keeping to safe work standards
• Work a 9 Day Fortnight

About You

We are looking for experienced Truck Drivers who has the capability to work under limited supervision and has experience in maintaining a safe and injury free workplace for all employees.

Essential Licenses and Tickets:

• White Card
• MR Driver Licence
• Traffic control certifications (Implement Traffic Control/Prepare Work Zone) - Our willing to obtain

Labouring experience in a construction or civil environment and experience and understanding of local road networks across the district.

You will live within 100km radius of the Bega works depot

Whilst not essential, experience in operating plant (excavator, bobcat, front end loader and backhoe) is advantageous.
