Job summary

Dahlsens Building Centres Pty in Traralgon, Victoria, is seeking a reliable Truck Driver to join our local team. You will be responsible for the safe, timely delivery of timber and building products to customer sites across the local region.

As a valued brand ambassador, you will manage deliveries, ensure safe loading and unloading, maintain vehicle standards, and provide excellent customer service while adhering to safety protocols and our Circle of Care principles.

Qualifications

• MR licence is mandatory.
• Forklift LF licence is mandatory.
• White Card is mandatory.
• Dogging licence is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles safely and in line with road rules.
• Deliver goods on time and in full per customer specs.
• Load, unload and handle products safely.
• Assess delivery sites for hazards before unloading.
• Check goods against run sheets and confirm with customers.
• Provide high levels of customer service.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and complete inspections.
• Report hazards and incidents per policy.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Driver, you are a brand ambassador for Dahlsens. You will be responsible for the safe, timely and professional delivery of timber, building products and other merchandise to customer sites across the local region.

You will take ownership of your deliveries, manage schedules effectively, and assess delivery sites to ensure safe access and unloading. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, customer service and teamwork, with the ability to work independently and support yard operations when required.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

• Operating company vehicles and plant safely and in compliance with road and safety requirements
• Delivering goods on time and in full in line with customer specifications
• Loading, unloading and handling products safely, including manual handling where required
• Assessing delivery sites for hazards prior to unloading
• Ensuring goods are accurately checked against run sheets and confirmed with customers
• Providing high levels of customer service to internal and external customers
• Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and completing required inspections and reports
• Following Our Circle of Care principles and reporting hazards, near misses and incidents

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Valid Medium Rigid (MR) licence or greater (mandatory)
• Forklift Licence (LF)(mandatory)
• White Card (mandatory)
• Dogging licence(preferred)
• Clean and untarnished driving record
• Previous experience delivering timber or building materials (preferred)
• Experience with safe loading, unloading and stock handling
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with good time management
• Physically capable of manual handling in line with WHS requirements
