Job summary

Natures Cargo in Ballarat is seeking an experienced Truck Driver with a valid HR licence to join our Ballarat team. This role is highly physical, involves multi-drop deliveries across regional south-west Victoria, and starts around 3am daily.

Role requires hand loading/unloading, WHS compliance, and occasional forklift operation. We offer staff discounts, secure parking at all sites, and an Established brand in foodservice distribution.

Qualifications

• Valid WWCC is required.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle pre-starts and report defects.
• Maintain vehicle logbook and driving hours per WHS.

• Manually load and unload goods up to 25kg; navigate stairs.
• Ensure delivery paperwork is signed and compliant with policies.
• Handle cash account transactions securely.
• Apply WHS and safe manual handling at all times.

Natures Cargo, an award-winning, family-owned and operated wholesale foodservice distribution company, has been a leader in the foodservice industry for over 40 years. Established in 1986, the business has grown from its humble beginnings to become one of Victoria’s leading foodservice distributors. With three distribution centres in Ballarat, Thomastown, and Traralgon, we proudly serve foodservice outlets across Metro and Regional Victoria.

Our extensive product range includes over 7,500 frozen, refrigerated, and dry goods sourced from more than 500 trusted suppliers. We provide a wide variety of food, beverages, and other essential products to restaurants, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, hotels, pubs, clubs, cafes, and all other food establishments.

Due to the continued growth of our organisation, we are seeking an experienced Truck Driver with a valid HR licence to join our Ballarat team. This is not a general or typical truck driver role; it is a highly physical, multi-drop delivery position involving hand loading and unloading, regular manual handling, and the movement of goods at customer sites. The role involves deliveries across regional south-west Victoria and requires an early start each day, generally around 3am.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete all vehicle pre-starts, and report any defects or issues to management
• Maintain vehicle logbook and observe driving hours in line with WHS requirements
• Complete multi-drop deliveries to customer sites in line with delivery documentation and instructions, ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently and on time
• Manually load and unload goods, including repetitive manual handling, navigating stairs and steps, frequent bending, lifting, and carrying heavy items up to 25kg
• Ensure all delivery documentation is signed, and all paperwork complies with company policies
• Handle cash account transactions securely and in accordance with company processes
• Apply WHS principles and safe manual handling practices at all times

Key Requirements:

• Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to read and complete paperwork with legible handwriting
• Professional presentation and the ability to maintain workplace hygiene standards
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interpret and follow instructions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated honesty and integrity
• Ability to prioritise, plan and manage daily workload
• Willingness to learn
• Food service industry experience preferred but not essential
• Transport experience with frozen and refrigerated products is highly desirable
• Valid Forklift Licence (LF)
