Job summary

Morcofresh, a leading national fresh produce distributor, is seeking a Transport – Truck Driver Grade 3 to join our team. You will be responsible for the safe, timely collection, transport and delivery of goods using two-axle rigid vehicles, including loading/unloading and maintaining food-handling standards with professional customer service.

• Strong commitment to safety, hygiene and manual-handling practices.
• Ability to plan routes, manage time and communicate clearly with customers.
• Experience in food wholesale or distribution is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate assigned rigid trucks within licence class and company policy.
• Complete scheduled pickups and deliveries within allocated timeframes.
• Load, secure and unload goods; ensure correct condition and quantity on delivery.
• Maintain delivery documentation and obtain proof of delivery.
• Conduct pre-start and post-operation vehicle checks and report defects.
• Adhere to WHS, CoR and fatigue management requirements.
• Represent Morcofresh professionally when dealing with customers and suppliers.

About the role

The Transport – Truck Driver Grade 3 is responsible for the safe, timely and efficient collection, transport and delivery of food products and other goods to internal locations and external customers. The role operates two-axle rigid vehicles over 4.5 tonnes and up to 13.9 tonnes GVM, or up to 15 tonnes where permitted by registration or special permit, and involves loading and unloading goods, completing delivery documentation, maintaining vehicle and food-handling standards, and providing professional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate assigned rigid trucks within the applicable vehicle and licence classification
• Complete scheduled pickups and deliveries in accordance with allocated routes and delivery timeframes
• Ensure goods are transported securely and delivered in the correct condition and quantity
• Review orders and delivery documentation before and after each delivery
• Obtain and maintain required proof of delivery and report delivery discrepancies promptly
• Assist with the safe loading, securing and unloading of goods
• Maintain appropriate food hygiene and product-handling standards throughout transportation and delivery
• Represent the company professionally when dealing with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Conduct required pre-start and post-operation vehicle checks and report defects or maintenance requirements
• Comply with Work Health and Safety (WHS), Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management and relevant transport requirements

About you

• Current and appropriate Australian driver's licence for the vehicle operated, including MR or HR licence at a minimum.
• Ability to legally operate a two-axle rigid vehicle over 4.5 tonnes and up to 13.9 tonnes GVM, or up to 15 tonnes where permitted by registration or special permit
• Previous experience as a truck or delivery driver, preferably in food wholesale, distribution, FMCG, hospitality or a related environment
• Experience operating rigid vehicles within the applicable vehicle classification
• Experience with loading, unloading, securing and delivering goods
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance
• Sound knowledge of safe driving and manual-handling practices
• Good time management, organisation and route-planning skills
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to perform frequent lifting, carrying and unloading of goods, including loads of approximately 15–20 kg, in accordance with safe work practices
