Job summary

Active Tree Services is seeking candidates for hands‑on outdoor roles across Port Pirie, Gladstone and surrounding areas. You will support tree crews with chipper operation, vegetation clearing, safety spotting, site clean‑up and setting up safe work zones.

New entrants receive training and tickets with ongoing support; experienced applicants are welcome, especially with truck driving, chainsaw, EWP or vegetation management experience. Daily travel allowances apply, with LAHA for overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Current driver’s licence (essential).
• Safety‑first attitude.
• Reliability and willingness to learn in a hands‑on outdoor role.
• MR/HR licence, chainsaw, EWP experience would be beneficial but not essential.

Job description

Based across Port Pirie, Gladstone and surrounding areas, you’ll support tree crews with chipper operation, vegetation clearing, spotting for safety, site clean-up, ground cutting and setting up safe work zones.

New to the industry? We’ll provide the training, tickets and support to help you get started. Already experienced? We’d still love to hear from you - especially if you have truck driving, chainsaw, EWP, climbing, or vegetation management experience.

Daily travel allowances apply, with a higher Living Away From Home Allowance paid when overnight stays are required — giving you the chance to earn while you travel, experience new places and work across the diverse landscapes, terrain and communities that make Australia unique.

Training and career pathways:

We’ll help you build the skills and tickets you need to grow in the industry, including training such as EWP High Risk Licence, chainsaw, powerline awareness, White Card, First Aid and CPR, Workzone Traffic Management, Certificate II in ESI, Close Approach Vegetation Control and support to obtain an MR/HR truck licence.

From there, you can progress into roles such as Chipper Operator, EWP Operator, Climber, Vegetation Inspector, Team Leader, Supervisor or Operations Manager, with Certificate III or IV in Arboriculture available for suitable applicants.
